
Pedal into World Car-Free Day with a community bike ride from Brewer Park to the Main Farmers’ Market!
You can register for free at www.wcdcommunityride.eventbrite.ca. This event is collaboratively organized by the Environment Committee of Ottawa South (ECOS), Sustainable Living Ottawa East (SLOE) and Capital Vélo Fest.
What: Community bike ride in celebration of World Carfree Day (WCD)
When: Saturday September 22nd, gather at 9:30 am for bike decorating, with a 10 am departure
Start: Brewer Park pavilion, near the entrance at Ossington Street and Seneca.
Destination: Main Farmer’s Market (Main Street), with a treat for the riders. Then load your pannier with fresh market produce!
If you’re feeling hesitant about giving up your car permanently, relax… Why? Because, you could try it out for just one day on Car-Free Day (Saturday, Sept 22nd)! By riding the bus, walking, cycling, rollerblading, carpooling or even skateboarding you’ll get a chance to see that driving your car is not the only way to experience convenient, flexible and fun travel.
