Take the Car-Free Challenge

Launch Event 

10:30am @ Credible Edibles, 78 Hinton Ave N

Join the Mayor and business owner Judi Varga-Toth as they hand deliver catered meals to clients on foot - in celebration of Sustainable Transportation Week.

 

Sunday, September 16th:
Jazzy Bikes for Tykes @ Piknic Electronik

2pm-6pm on the lawn behind the Canadian Museum of Civilization

A family friendly activity at Piknic Electronik.  Dress up your bike and dazzle the crowd in the parade. Discounted entrance if you can show demonstrate you took sustainable transportation to get there (bus transfer, bike helmet, etc.)! For more details click here.

 

Wednesday, September 19th:
Creating Winning Projects for Walkable Communities

6:45am-9am @ Andrew Haydon Hall, City of Ottawa

The goal of the conference is to engage residents interested in making their community more pedestrian friendly.  Get inspired by other community based project, learn about resources available to assist with community projects, and connect with likeminded residents. Bike-Bus-Car Challenge

Remember last year’s exciting race from Billings Bridge to the Museum of Civilization? Well it’s happening again! Follow local celebrities as they race to finish line, and see which mode will be victorious. For more details click here.

Car-Free Day Bike Parade

9:30am for bike decorating, 10am departure

9am-3pm starting from 8 Locks' Flat Restaurant, east side of Rideau Canal at Somerset footbridge

Get ready for STW with a family friendly adventure bike rally.  Decipher a route and search for clues in a 20km ride around the capital region.
